Sub Wood Sub Mix
Sub Wood Sub Mix

Kind of a sub-birthday present - it’s still Dan’s birthday somewhere in the world... just barely.
This one is sub-titled, Diminished Expectations Exceeded, Then Reined Back In.
I decided to record 12 guitar tracks, pretty much each as a first take, specifically to test the new, tighter (+/- 3 cents) tuning, but then I got the idea to do a “full” prototype: bass, kick drum, a new version of the interlude, all, or as much of it as I could get done tonight.
Well - I got the guitar tracks down and tweaked the sub woods to a sub mix. This would be that. I mostly thinned out the english horn and alto flute here and there. I used a literal cave; there’s an impulse response from the Luzit Cave in Israel. I used the larger one (big subprize). I doubt this would work in the mixed version, but it’s kinda cool here.
The above shows all the sub wood tracks, and about half of the new guitars. The guitars are not here. Only sub woods.
